30th anniversary celebration held in Dahua

A grand ceremony took place on Oct 20 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of Dahua Yao autonomous county in Hechi. It was attended by 48,000 government officials and representatives from different ethnic groups.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up in China, the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the 30th anniversary of the Dahua Yao autonomous county. Dahua will host a series of events to show people the changes and progress in the county over the past three decades.

Founded in October, 1988, Dahua has made brilliant achievements in many fields. The GDP of the county is expected to increase 33.65 times, its fiscal revenue 110 times and its fixed-asset investment 14.9 times by the end of this year.

Zhao Zhimin, director of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, expressed his congratulations to Dahua and spoke highly of the county's great achievements, noting that Dahua's progress will help promote the general prosperity of all ethnic groups.

Yang Wenlong, the county's Party secretary, stated that under the guidance of the government, the comprehensive strength of Dahua has increased. Through 30 years of development, the county has witnessed a significant reduction in poverty and improvements in the region's livability. 

After the celebration ceremony, the county gave wonderful artistic performance highlighting the changes the region has undergone.
