The final of the third Cross-Straits Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition took place in Pingtan on Oct 14, gathering 31 projects including 20 from Taiwan to compete.

"We hope to boost communication and cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship among cross-Straits youths and introduce more innovation projects to Pingtan to promote local development," said Lin Xingxi, an official from the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone bureau of finance.

Winking Entertainment, one of the teams entering the final competition, has over 15 years of experience in game development and is now devoted to the research and development of Visual Reality (VR) games.

The company plans to open a subsidiary in Pingtan and establish a technical team for VR games, creating hundreds of jobs.

"Apart from VR games, we will also launch special VR products based on Pingtan tourism. When Pingtan finishes its construction of a large-scale themed park, we also plan to offer products to bring different travel experiences for visitors," said Zhan Chenghan, CEO of Winking Entertainment.
