Zhanjiang folk art maestro Pan Kangming has been invited to display his sculpture "Wrestling" at the 24th International Cultural Heritage Fair, which will be held at the Carrousel du Louvre, Paris from Nov 2 to 5.

Pan Kangming was born in Wuchuan, a county-level city in Zhanjiang. He is now a member of the Association of the Asian Contemporary Sculptor, and his most famous works include "Sunshine·Beach", "Breakthrough", and "Master Hongyi".

His sculpture "Wrestling" is made of copper cubes and makes use of hot tinting technology. It depicts two boxers grappling with each other, symbolizing two opposing and unstable forces in a delicate equilibrium.

According to Pan, he has a deep and special affection for Wuchuan's clay figurines, and will promote local folk art to the world during his journey to the Paris heritage show.

The International Cultural Heritage Fair, one of the most prestigious of its kind in Europe, is a testament to the diversity of heritage professionals and their associated skills. It provides an opportunity for exchanges and shared experiences in heritage protection.

"European heritage, shared heritage" will be the focus of the 24th International Heritage Show. Following recognition by the French Ministry of Culture, the fair has become an integral part of the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage.
