Six counties in Hechi city, South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region were dubbed national e-commerce demonstration counties, according to news released on Oct 7 by the local government.

In order to promote the development of rural e-commerce, the city sped up the construction of public service and logistics distribution systems and acquired a 120 million yuan ($17.33 million) fund by the end of September. The city has additionally set up 301 three-level service sites in counties, townships and villages, as well as 242 logistics distribution networks, which have played a significant role in promoting poverty alleviation.

Thanks to the overall network construction, the city has devoted itself to accelerating internet-driven poverty alleviation and implementing the strategy "Broadband Hechi", so as to achieve full internet coverage. After years of effort, the sharing rate of the base stations has reached 80 percent, and the network coverage reached 100 percent in the downtown area and counties (cities), while the rate in the villages hit 95 percent.
