Overseas Chinese Town project worth $2.2b signed in Yangzhou

Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town Holding signed a contract with the Slender West Lake scenic area on Sept 28 to invest in the Yangzhou Overseas Chinese town, a large-scale project combining culture and tourism.

Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town Holding, founded in 1985, is a large State-owned company managing several businesses including ones involved in real estate and tourism.

The Yangzhou Overseas Chinese Town, covering an area of 500 hectares near the Slender West Lake scenic area, is expected to be the largest Overseas Chinese Town in Jiangsu with a total investment of 15 billion yuan ($2.2 billion).

Zu Feng, person in charge of this project, said the Yangzhou Overseas Chinese Town will integrate distinctive Yangzhou culture on the basis of making innovations in local tourism products and turn the town into an area mixing various elements such as amusement, business, tourism and agricultural.
