14.73 million tourists visit Guangzhou during National Day holiday

The city of Guangzhou played host to 14.73 million tourists during this year's "Golden Week" National Day holiday, a year-on-year increase of 10.11 percent.  A report from the Guangzhou tourism bureau on Oct 7 also showed that the total tourism revenue of the city during this period hit 11.56 billion yuan ($1.68 billion), a year-on-year increase of 10.39 percent.

Statistics showed that tourists' satisfaction with travel to Guangzhou has continued to climb, reaching as high as 99 percent. Nearly 8.5 million tourists arriving in Guangzhou during the holiday were from outside the city and 346,500 of them were overseas tourists.
