Overview of transportation in Hefei

Hefei is a comprehensive transportation hub in China. The Hefei high-tech zone is 15 km away from the 4E level Xinqiao International Airport. There are over 50 lines linking Hefei with Asia Pacific areas and Europe, including Germany, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand, as well as major cities in China. 

Hefei is easily accessible by expressways, such as the Hefei-Nanjing Expressway, Hefei-Wuhu Expressway, Hefei-Anqing Expressway, Hefei-Xuzhou Expressway and Hefei-Tongling-Huangshan Expressway.

Hefei is also a railway transportation hub in China, where six main high-speed railway lines join each other, including Hefei-Jiujiang High-speed Railway, Nanjing-Xi’an High-speed Railway, Hefei-Nanjing High-speed Railway and Hefei-Wuhan High-speed Railway. With the intercity railways, it only takes 45 minutes to get to Nanjing, two hours to Shanghai and Wuhan, and three hours to Beijing and Fuzhou. 

Hefei Port is one of the 28 main river ports in China. It is 174 km to Wuhu Port, 240 km to Nanjing Port and 676 km to Shanghai Port. It is the largest container port on tributary waterways of Yangtze River with an annual capacity of 600,000 TEU (2017).
