Yunfu-Zhanjiang Expressway Section II becomes operational

The second section of the Yunfu-Zhanjiang Expressway opened to traffic on Sept 26, cutting travel time between Guangzhou and Zhanjiang by half an hour.

The expressway is the second road to connect western Guangdong with the Pearl River Delta, after the Shenyang-Haikou Expressway.

The first section began operating on Dec 28, 2017. The second section features a dual four-lane structure with a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour. It starts from Yunfu's Xinxing county, stretching 43 kilometers to converge into the Qingyuan-Yunfu section of the Shantou-Zhanjiang Expressway.

Zhanjiang passengers heading to Guangzhou can access the Jiangmen-Luoding Expressway via the Yunfu-Zhanjiang Expressway. A round-trip is about 423 kilometers and takes only five hours.
