Details for 60 measures to better serve Taiwan people and companies in Xiamen, Fujian province were released on Sept 18.

According to the local government, each measure is attached with details of specific policies, application requirements, materials needed, contact persons of related departments, and work processes.

The 60 measures were developed out of Chinese mainland's 31 measures, a set of policies that benefit Taiwan people who study, work and live on the Chinese mainland.

Xiamen's 60 measures involve serving Taiwan people in five aspects: economic exchanges, cultural and social exchanges, studying and interning, working and starting businesses, as well as daily life in Xiamen.

These measures have gained popularity among Taiwan people and companies on the Chinese mainland since its launch five months ago.

By Sept 18, a total of 3,129 Taiwan people had applied for residence permits in Xiamen, making the coastal city the place with the most Taiwan applicants on the Chinese mainland.

Some 527 Taiwan students have taken up paid internships in Xiamen's 53 companies and 195 Taiwan talents have been awarded the title of distinguished experts this year.

A project to introduce 100 Taiwan actors, directors, editors and other film and television practitioners was recently initiated by top film and television production companies from Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland to promote the development of the cultural industry across the Taiwan Straits.
