Humanitarian aid cooperation and exchanges between China and the United Nations are expected to increase following a meeting between Deng Boqing and Ursula Mueller on Sept 21.

Deng, vice chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), spoke highly of the humanitarian aid efforts of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) over the past 27 years.

Deng also shared China’s efforts and plans in the field. He said that CIDCA is willing to further cooperate and exchange with OCHA to improve mutual understanding and trust.

Ursula Mueller, assistant secretary-general for humanitarian affairs and deputy emergency relief coordinator of OCHA, congratulated Deng on the establishment of the China International Development Cooperation Agency and said its support was appreciated.

She expected China and the UN to make joint efforts to combat global humanitarian challenges.
