Over the past ten years, visiting the lantern festival at Plum Garden has been a definite must for tourists travelling to Wuxi.
Differing from previous years, in order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening up, this year's festival, for the first time, incorporates lighting arts into urban lighting through presenting a 130-meter-long themed lamp group along the green belt outside of the garden. Tourists can be treated with lights before entering the scenic spot.
The lanterns were elaborately built by nearly one hundred skillful craftsmen from Zigong, Sichuan province, for over more than a month. Focusing on energy conservation and environmental protection, the craftsmen adopted a large number of new LED, comprehensively enhancing the night effect of the lamp group while inheriting the original production technique.
