Extra trains to serve Mid-Autumn Festival holidays

China Railway Harbin Co will add 21 trains from its existing services stations to popular tourism destinations and neighboring cities, to cope with the rise in passenger numbers during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday travel rush, from Sept 22 to 24.

The services are mainly targeted at university students, short-distance tourists and passengers visiting relatives.

The additional trains include high-speed trains running from Harbin to Beijing, Dalian and Qiqihar; as well as ordinary trains to Manzhouli, Jiamusi and Mudanjiang.

In addition, to provide convenience for tourists heading to Yingkou, Fuyuan and Hailar, special “Longjiang Zhixing” tourist trains will operate.

Train station under the jurisdiction of Harbin Railway Bureau is anticipated to accommodate approximately 1.28 million passengers over the three-day period.

Peak passenger flow for a day is estimated to reach 350,000 passengers.
