Dalian gears for world’s spotlight

The Dalian International Ocean City Cultural Photography Week will be held at Dalian Modern Museum in Dalian, Liaoning province from Sept 24 to 30.

This is the first time the city is hosting such a grand scale photography event. According to the organizing committee, the photography week is not only a form to present Dalian’s development over the past 40 years, but also a channel to increase Dalian’s international popularity.

The main venue of the event will be set at the first and third floor of the modern museum, which covers an area of 4,000 square meters. 36 themed exhibitions will be held during the photography week, displaying thousands of photos.

Ealier in August, 10 Chinese and foreign photographers were invited to Dalian to capture the beautiful parts of the city, as an appetizer for the event. These photographers include Li Ke, director of the China Photographers Association, Gilles Sabrie from French, Jed Weingarten from the United States and Valery Melnikov from Russia.

The event is hosted by Dalian publicity department, the China Photographers Association and the Dalian Tourism Development Committee and organized by Dalian News Media Group, China Photography Press and No 3 Engineering Co of CCCC First Harbor Engineering Co, as well as other organizations and sponsors.
