The Slender West Lake Tourism and Development Group will hold road shows promoting the greenery of Yangzhou abroad and issue $300 million bonds in November, in an attempt to encourage potential foreign capital investment in Yangzhou.
"It's the first case in Jiangsu that green areas of a city were promoted abroad to attract foreign capital," said Yang Rong, director of Yangzhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission.
Yang said the promotion could raise the image of Yangzhou and let foreigners feel the charm of this famous cultural tourism city.
"As a representative of the city, Yangzhou gardens should acquire more international influence," said Gu Yongliang from the Slender West Lake scenic area.
It is hoped that after the road shows, tourism projects in Yangzhou such as landscape engineering in Zaolinwan scenic area will attract the support of foreign capital.
