The digital payment system has been fully rolled out in lines 1, 2, and 12 for Dalian Subway in Dalian city, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Aug 28.

Passengers now need only to open the Dalian Metro app and use a QR code on their smartphones to ride the subway in the city. They can also use a China Unionpay card with the flashpay function as a subway ticket.

The digital tickets not only meet the public needs for green transportation and quick pass, but also improve commuting efficiency.

According to Ma Jinhang, general manager assistant of Dalian Metro, all the ticket gates will be upgraded to enable QR code scanning by the end of this year. The payment channels of Alipay and WeChat will be added to the application soon.

If passengers encounter any problems when scanning the QR code, they can call +86-411-88099999 for help; for any problems with the China Unionpay card, please call 95516 or contact the Wechat account of unionpay-dl.
