The city of Yangzhou, Jiangsu province held a fair to seek cooperation with international companies based in Shanghai on Aug 24.
Over 300 delegates from Fortune 500 companies and other prestigious companies attended the fair, such as Lear Corporation, engaging in the manufacturing and distribution of automotive seating and electrical distribution systems, and Japan External Trade Organization, a government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world.
A total of 40 industrial projects, worth approximately $4 billion, were signed at the fair including 19 foreign investment projects. Deals on 16 industry transfer projects and five science and technology projects were also sealed during the fair.
In order to seek more collaborative opportunities and boost cooperation, a delegation led by Yangzhou officials visited several companies based in Shanghai including Spring Airlines, China's first low fare airline, and SAIC Volkswagen, a Sino-Germany joint venture company.
