Guangzhou swimmer breaks record at Asian Games 2018

Liu Xiang, known as one of the "double insurance swimmers" of the Chinese swimming team, was crowned champion on Aug 21 at the women's backstroke 50-meter finals in the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Guangzhou girl's performance of 26.98 seconds earned her a gold medal and she also created a new world record in swimming event of the Jakarta Asiad. She is also the first athlete to finish women's backstroke 50-meter event in less than 27 seconds.
