Youth cultural exchange week held in Dalian

Dalian International Youth Cultural Exchange Week was held in Dalian, Northeast China’s Liaoning province from Aug 15 to 19.

The cultural extravaganza attracted 10 overseas delegations from Russia, Australia, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Egypt, Singapore, South Korea and Japan; and from China, one delegation from Hong Kong, 22 delegations from across the mainland and 13 delegations from Dalian. All the delegation members were aged between 14 and 22.

In response to China’s Belt and Road Initiative, the event was held in a bid to strengthen ties among young people in China and countries involved in the initiative through cultural performances. 

The event also served to demonstrate Dalian’s inclusive and romantic image, since all participants got the chance to experience some of Dalian’s cultural traditions. 

The activity was hosted by Dalian People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the foreign affairs office of Dalian municipal government and Dalian Women’s Federation.
