Dalian Subway to launch day pass

Dalian in Northeast China’s Liaoning province will soon introduce a day pass ticket for its subway network, according to Dalian Transportation Bureau.

When a passenger buys the new pass, they will be able to ride on local subway lines an unlimited number of times during a 24-hour period. 

With the introduction of the new pass, Dalian will also introduce new passes lasting three days and seven days.

In addition, the full adoption of a digital payment system for Dalian Subway is currently under discussion. The system will utilize both Alipay and WeChat.

Dalian will not be the first Chinese city to offer day passes for public transport, with some of China’s megacities such as Beijing and Shanghai already offering similar ticket options.
