The Museum of Mankind in Xiamen University is one of the renowned museums approved by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization.

The museum was included in the list of renowned museums by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2000.

Located in a three story building at Xiamen University, the museum consists of seven exhibition halls and one gallery of inscription rubbings, and has 8,000 exhibits displaying the origin and evolution of human beings and their cultures, China's history and cultural relics from home and abroad.
