Attached to Inner Mongolia Jinyu Group, the Spirit Jinyu Biological Pharmaceutical Co Ltd （金宇保灵生物药品有限公司） started operations in 1958.

It is a high-tech enterprise focusing on the research, development, production and marketing of the Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccine.

It has 478 employers including three researchers, 428 technicians and 12 senior veterinary surgeons and technicians.

In 2007, the enterprise received the Good Manufacture Practice (GMP) certificate authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture of People's Republic of China. GMP is a worldwide system that ensures that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards.

Covering an area of 59,900 square meters, its annual production of the FMD vaccine can reach 2.40 billion milliliters.

In 2004, its sales revenue reached 240 million yuan ($35.15 million). Ever since that year, it has also maintained its second position in production across the nation.

The enterprise was authorized by the National Development and Reform Commission to undertake the national laboratory program of veterinary vaccines in July 2008. In December of the same year, the laboratory was unveiled, becoming the only national laboratory on veterinary vaccine research.

Since its establishment, the enterprise has increased its funding for vaccine research. It has also built strong partnerships with universities, enterprises, as well as research institutes from home and aboard in the introduction of techniques and the development of new products.

It has continued to prioritize marketing, and has formed a marketing network connecting 31 cities, provinces and autonomous regions across the country.
