The police department in Tianhe district of Guangzhou recently unveiled its smart one-touch-to-call system on WeChat which enables residents to call the police in emergencies in a far easier way.

Through the system, people can call for help with one touch on the button and the system will simultaneously send the caller's location information, real-time videos and photos to the police.

Users need to follow the WeChat account gzthga and complete real name authentication procedures before using the one-touch-to-call system.

According to Liu Wubin, deputy head of Tianhe district and head of Tianhe's police department, the smart system is part of the district's efforts to echo the smart police affairs construction in Guangdong province.

In September 2016, Tianhe police set up a professional drone team consisting of 30 members equipped with 24 sets of leading UAVs. This particular "air police" force has participated in and completed many missions such as observation, cruise defense and security control.

The police department also issued a "smart escort" service on WeChat which allows passengers of taxis and cars on the car-hailing platforms to report their location to the police every minute and call the police in an emergency.

Liu said that the construction of Tianhe's smart police services is still on-going and the department will go all out to innovate and upgrade police services to build a safer city.
