A new tourism think tank was jointly launched by tourism committees within Shenyang economic zone and by Shenyang University in Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on July 24.

A total of around 100 people took part in the activity, including officials in the tourism committees of cities across the zone.

At the inauguration ceremony, representatives from the committees and heads of Shenyang University delivered letters of appointment to professors of the university.

The think tank will focus on the difficulties in developing the tourism industry and give advice on how to better boost tourism in the zone.

Shenyang economic zone is a city cluster involving one core city, namely Shenyang, and four other cities –– Anshan, Fushun, Benxi, and Liaoyang. All five cities belong to Liaoning province.

During the event, Shenyang economic zone tourist enterprises alliance conference was also held.

The conference approved reports on the work of the alliance and unveiled its new leadership team. For its next step, the alliance will make efforts to further tourist cooperation among cities in the zone.

The alliance has conducted a series of activities since its foundation in July 2015. Direct tourist trains from Shenyang to its neighboring cities were launched with input and assistance from the organization. In addition, it has hosted public welfare tourist activities for four consecutive years.
