A 12309 Procuratorate Service Center was inaugurated in Zhanjiang on July 30 to supplement the current 12309 hotline, app, website and WeChat account, as the government seeks to provide one-stop procuratorate services to the public.

12309 started out as a national anti-corruption hotline for whistle-blowers. It accepts tip-offs and impeachments of job-related crimes by government officials, such as corruption, bribery and dereliction of duty.

Its website, app and WeChat account are online platforms that offer procuratorate services (including accusations, petitions, criminal and civil appeals, national compensation, judicial aid, and legal consultation), disclose case information, and accept external supervision.

Following this year's state supervisory system reform, the China's Supreme People's Procuratorate wants to transform the 12309 anti-corruption platform into a comprehensive service center that allows both online and offline access.

The brick-and-mortar 12309 service center is set to provide consulting services and deal with things like accusations and appeals, state compensation and judicial aid, and case management. Residents can either deal with their affairs online or visit the service center at their convenience.
