WDC intl ballroom dance championships open in Hohhot

The WDC China International Ballroom Dance Championships commenced in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region on July 28, drawing 1,500 participants from Russia, Mongolia, Ukraine and China.
Over ten international judges and 30 renowned judges in China were invited to attend the championships.
The competition was initiated by the World Dance Council (WDC) and its amateur league (WDC-AL) and organized by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Sports Bureau.
According to the WDC, the competition will be divided into 11 groups, covering 12 kinds of dance including waltz, tango and foxtrot.
Inner Mongolia leads the nation in promoting international ballroom dancing and has organized dozens of regional and national competitions.
International ballroom dancing has gained popularity in the region over the past 20 years, attracting hundreds of amateurs to pursue professional dance careers.
