A shopping mall in Beijing is reportedly offering the free use of a movable baby-care room, which has already been used by more than 1,000 mothers till now. The baby care room is equipped with a nappy changing desk, sofa for breast-feeding and power supply for electronic breast pumps. It is reported that the mobile baby-care room is free to use. Mothers can scan a QR code to gain access to the 2-square-meter room.
In recent years more mothers have been complaining of the insufficient or badly designed baby-care rooms.
As early as 2016 relevant departments including the former National Health and Family Planning Commission issued guidelines on accelerating construction of baby-care facilities, which advances providing standardized baby-care facilities in all the public places and institutions. However, there is still a shortage of well-designed baby-care facilities.
Moveable baby-care rooms can help solve this problem, as they offer a baby-care facility at a considerably low price, and can make a profit from advertisements and vending machines in the room.
