The 13th Harbin International Dancing Championship concluded at Harbin Convention and Exhibition Center on July 23, following a three-day competition.

Having been held for 12 consecutive years, it has become one of the most important dance events in the Northeast China region. It plays an important role in promoting Harbin in China and abroad.

Compared with similar events held previously, this year’s dance championship attracted the participation of around 7,000 dancers, including contestants from Russia, South Korea, Austria, Iceland, Cuba and Hungary. The number of participants represented a year-on-year increase of 10 percent.

Dancers competed in a total of 722 group competitions involving different types of dance, including modern, Latin, street, ballroom, and jitterbug dancing.

The event was sponsored by the government of Harbin and Harbin municipal sports bureau.
