Recommended places to enjoy blooming lotus flowers in Gaoyou

Lotus flowers, symbolizing elegance, beauty, purity and grace, is a constant theme in ancient Chinese literary works. 

Zhou Dunyi, a scholar from the Song dynasty (960-1279), wrote in his prestigious work On the Love of the Lotus that "I love the lotus because, while it grows from mud, it is unstained." 

As the midsummer approaches, the full blossom season of lotus has arrived. Here are two recommended places in Gaoyou for lotus lovers to enjoy the beauty of its blossom. 

East bank of Qingshui Lake 

Qingshui Lake is famous for its depth and crystal-clear waters. It is also an important tourist attraction in the Qingshuitan Tourist Resort, a provincial wetland park in Gaoyou. 

In summer, Qingshui Lake is an ideal place for tourists to enjoy some tranquility while enjoying the full blossom of the lotus.
