The industrial chain of automobiles in the city of Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has secured a further advance as the city’s auto parts self-supply capacity developed at an accelerating pace, according to a recent news release by a local media organization.

When the branch of Chery Automobile in Ordos was set up, the company suffered from high transportation costs as almost all the auto parts needed had to be transported in from outside.

With this dilemma, the local government was poised to introduce auto parts companies, simplify the approval procedures for these companies to invest in Ordos and provide preferential policies for them.

Thanks to the support from the government, nearly 30 companies focusing on production of auto parts settled in the city.

Due to the improved self-supply capacity of auto parts in the city Chery Automobile branch in Ordos could assemble automobiles at a faster rate.

The car manufacturing company can now assemble nearly 400 vehicles every day. More than that, over 20,000 automobiles are now sent to the rest of the country and foreign countries every month.

Once these auto parts companies reach the designed production capacity, Ordos itself can supply more than 80 percent of its required auto parts.
