West Lake International Expo

The first West Lake Expo was held 73 years ago and was a huge success. Since its revival in 2000, the second and third expos have attracted 118 million visitors, allowed the signing of business contracts amounting to 14.1 billion yuan ($1.7 billion) and generated investment totaling $4.01 billion.

Featuring a grand opening ceremony, distinctive exhibitions, high-level forums attended by renowned experts, fireworks and of course a beautiful landscape, the West Lake Expo has become an opportunity for tourism, the exchange of ideas and business deals.

Computing Conference in Yunqi Cloud Town

Organized by Hangzhou municipal government and e-commerce giant Alibaba Group, the Computing Conference in Yunqi Cloud Town, Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, has grown to become the biggest conference of its kind focused on science and technology at home and abroad.

Hangzhou's Computing Conference is a platform for entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and to realize their dreams with the help of the latest technology. The most advanced scientific and technological equipment will be on show at the conference in October.

Hangzhou photo festival

The first Hangzhou photo festival was held 11 years ago and was the first photo one themed about ordinary citizens in the country. The photo aims to reflect recent changes in public life. The annual photo festival starts in May.

China International Cartoon and Animation Festival

China International Cartoon and Animation Festival (CICAF) is the only state-level professional cartoon and animation festival in China, and is currently the country’s largest, most popular and most influential cartoon and animation professional festival. This annual event has been held in Hangzhou every spring since 2005 and is divided into exhibitions, forums, business fairs, competitions and activities involving more than 50 brand projects.

Hangzhou Qiantang River International Culture Festival

Hangzhou Qiantang River International Culture Festival celebrates the contribution of the river to the city's rich cultural heritage. The festival of performances was first held last June.

Zhejiang Youth Film Festival

Hosted by the Publicity Department of Zhejiang's Provincial Party Committee, Zhejiang’s provincial administration of press, publication, radio, film and television and China Film Foundation, the Zhejiang Youth Film Festival explores young people's enthusiasm and aspiration toward the Chinese film industry. The event has been held in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017.

Chinese Folk Artists Festival

Chinese Folk Artists Festival is one of the major projects of West Lake International Expo. It is hosted by the Chinese Folk Literature and Art Association, China Cultural Relics Academy, Zhejiang federation of literary and art circles and the people’s government of Shangcheng district. The biennial event has been held since 2004 and includes exhibitions, forums and a folk art auction.
