Western food culture festival unveiled in Harbin

The fourth China International Western Food Culture Festival was unveiled in Harbin Central Avenue Street on July 1.

Sponsored by China Hotel Association and Department of Commerce of Heilongjiang province, the festival is a platform that promotes Harbin’s western food and pushes ahead the upgrading and transformation of the city’s western food consumption.

This year’s festival is themed on “new western food, new consumption and new life”.

During the festival, activities including China International Catering Industry Development Forum, China International Western Food Competition and western food ingredient tasting activities will be held.

Additionally, a western food festival involving around 20 western food restaurants and ingredient suppliers in Harbin will be held on Xijiudao Street, providing tourists and local residents with a good opportunity to taste western food with different flavors.

Harbin was awarded with an honorary title of “the Capital City of China’s Western Food” at the opening ceremony of the western food culture festival held on July 1.

Meanwhile, Modern Western Restaurant, the western restaurant of Youyi Palace, Huamei Western Restaurant and Portman Western Restaurant were approved as the first batch of demonstration western restaurants in Harbin.
