Taiwan students commence summer internships in Guangzhou

Ninety-three university students from Taiwan arrived in Guangzhou on June 30 for two-month summer internships in Guangzhou's leading enterprises.

Nearly 330 students are involved in the internship program, according to the Guangzhou municipal Taiwan affairs office.

Hailing from the top 60 universities in Taiwan and divided into three groups, the students will go to large state-owned enterprises such as Yuexiu Group, GAC Group, Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group, and Guangzhou City Construction Investment Group as well as leading private companies including Kingfa Technology and Vip.com. Taiwan-funded enterprises in Guangzhou are also welcoming the students.

They will be posted in design, secretarial, technical, international exchange, international trade and many other positions in those companies.

The program aims to enhance Taiwan youth's understanding of the development of enterprises in the Chinese mainland, share the achievements of the mainland's mass entrepreneurship and innovation and promote youth exchanges between Guangzhou and Taiwan.

The program was organized by the Guangzhou Youth Association, the Guangzhou Overseas Friendship Association and the Guangzhou municipal Taiwan affairs office. It has been held for three consecutive years and has provided nearly 800 internship opportunities to Taiwan students.
