Wuxi students make national team for World Skills Competition

A group of eight participants from Wuxi have been selected to the national candidate team and will receive training for the 45th World Skills Competition, which will be held in the Russian city of Kazan, in August next year.

A total of 18 participants from the city competed with participants from all over the country and eight of them stood out in 11 segments of the national selection contest for the global event.

Qiu Honghui, a student of Wuxi Machinery and Electron Higher Professional and Technical School, won first place in CNC milling and Yang Xinyu from Wuxi Traffic Technician College won third place in construction and building technology.

The shortlist also included Miu Jiaping and Ren Zou from CSSC Chengxi Technician School, and Gan Yongliang from Wuxi Machinery and Electron Higher Professional and Technical School.

The World Skills Competition is dubbed the world's "Olypmic Games of professional skills". The top candidate after one year's training will represent China in the grand event.
