Xinshiyun, the biggest online court services provider nationwide, and Aliyun, Alibaba's cloud computing subsidiary, have jointly launched a new online court system called Cloud Court, that can identify the litigants through face recognition technology before a court hearing and provide an explanation of legal terms during the trial.
It can also provide information on precedents, laws and information to the judges, and can record the entire trial proceedings to form an electronic archive.
It is being piloted in Xiang'an District People's Court in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province.
The courts have highly promoted the use of modern technology in their work in recent years, and the new cloud computing system aims to explore a new trial model and promote the modernization of the trial system in order to initially build a transparent network.
