Ningbo calligraphy exhibition kicks off

An art exhibition, showcasing the achievements of Ningbo's calligraphy and seal carving arts and marking the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up, opened at the Ningbo Museum of Art on June 27.

This exhibition, hosted by the Ningbo publicity department and sponsored by several art organizations, demonstrates the overall development of the city's art industry through the display of over 150 pieces of works from 56 elite artists.

With a focus on promoting inheritors' artworks, the exhibits take direct inspiration from masters' poems, sayings and inscriptions.

Also at the same time as the exhibition, artists are being invited to give lectures on calligraphy and seal carving at communities, companies and government departments in Ningbo.

The exhibition runs through July 4.
