First academician expert workstation unveiled in Hechi

The first academician expert workstation in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, was unveiled in Yizhou district June 12.

The Guangxi Ranquan Agricultural Science and Technology Co Ltd academician expert workstation was promoted by Guangxi Association for Science and Technology and established with the support of Li Defa, a member of the China Academy of Engineering. Li and his team of scientists aim to integrate scientific research projects and results with the needs of enterprises to promote the development of the agricultural economy in Hechi and Guangxi.

Guangxi Ranquan Agricultural Science and Technology focuses on the paper mulberry circular economy and sustainable development of the ecological environment, and is working to solve the problem of silage shortages in winter in northern China.

Luo Zan, the company's president, said it will increase the transformation of scientific achievements  and give full play to technical consulting, talent exchanges and product research and development (R&D) to help farmers out of poverty.

Li Defa visited the paper mulberry industry chain of Guangxi Ranquan Agricultural Science and Technology and advised it on R&D and promotion in planting, harvesting, processing and utilization of paper mulberry.

The academician expert workstation will explore the mechanisms and effects of paper mulberry in improving meat quality, bacteriostasis and anti-oxidation, and try to overcome the paper mulberry technology bottleneck to assist precision poverty alleviation and rural rejuvenation, Li said.

Liang Ning, governor of Yizhou district, said Yizhou will take the opportunity of the establishment of the workstation to promote the establishment of a paper mulberry high-end platform for R&D, exploring new approaches in poverty alleviation and industrial development.

It is hoped that the establishment of the academician expert workstation will play a positive role in training and introducing talents, which will further promote innovation in the agricultural economy and technology in Hechi.
