Culture tourism expo stages in Yangzhou

The 2018 China (Yangzhou) Grand Canal Culture Tourism Exposition was held at Yangzhou International Exhibition Center from June 15 to 18.

Sponsored by the Yangzhou Municipal Government and China Arts and Crafts Association, the four-day event attracted some 300 enterprises from 16 cities along the Grand Canal, to stage their exquisite cultural heritages and crafts, including the Palace Museum, Jingdezhen (China's porcelain capital) and Nanjing's art colleges.

The exhibition area not only displayed and sold competitive cultural and creative products, but also provided a platform for the participanting enterprises and visitors to communicate and exchange ideas.

A total of 555 exquisite jade carving works featured the fair, of which 388 works from local enterprises in Yangzhou won prizes. Hanzhong jade from Shaanxi province was brought into focus as an emerging jade category.

A remarkable work named Hualan (flower basket), made of Hetian jade from Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, obtained great attention as it is the biggest of its kind. The art master, Jiang Chunyuan, spent more than three months conceiving of the basket before completing the final version.
