The 11th Lushunkou Primary and Middle School Science and Technology Festival opened May 23, as part of National Science and Technology Week, at Taiyanggou Ceramic Museum in the Lushunkou district of Dalian, Liaoning province.

About 50 innovative businesses and local primary and middle schools took part in the launch ceremony.

Offering free or discounted admission during the week, the district’s science popularization base  will allow visitors to experience advanced technologies and learn more about science and innovation.

Founded in 2001, National Science and Technology Week is the largest, longest and best-attended annual science event in China. Science events and activities are staged in cities across the country throughout the week.

Such events and activities play an important part in Lushunkou's strategy to promote scientific fluency to its citizens.
