Zhenping jade carvings selected for state-level rejuvenation

The jade carvings of Zhenping county, Nanyang, were included in the Catalogue of National Traditional Crafts for Rejuvenation by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The list includes 383 projects from across the country, which are divided into 14 categories. Only those with cultural antecedents, production scale, development prospects, and a certain number of inheritors can qualify.

The two ministries will urge local governments to implement policies in support of the nominated projects for the purpose of preserving traditions, stimulating economic development, and creating jobs.

The Cultural Department of Henan Province has stated that it will launch handicrafts training sessions for surplus rural laborers, laid-off workers, and the disabled. Local small- and micro-sized companies, and hi-tech enterprises that engage in the designated crafts can enjoy tax reductions and investment support.
