Hefei-Wuhu-Bengbu Innovation Demonstration Zone

Built among the three major cities of Hefei, Wuhu and Bengbu in Anhui province, the Hefei-Wuhu-Bengbu Innovation Demonstration Zone sits in the Wanjiang City Belt, Hefei City Circle, Huaihe River City Cluster and the Yangtze River Delta City Cluster.

The demonstration zone obtained the approval from the State Council in 2011 to conduct corporate equity and dividend incentive pilot projects with reference and applicable policies similar to that of Zhongguancun National Innovation Demonstration Zone.

The State Council approved to set up the demonstration zone on the basis of the Hefei-Wuhu-Bengbu Independent Innovation Pilot Area consisting of Hefei, Wuhu, and Bengbu high-tech industrial development zones on June 8，2016.

From January to August 2016, the three cities created an output value of 685.59 billion yuan and added value of 153.52 billion yuan in terms of the high-tech industries, which accounted for 61 and 60.7 percent of the province's total numbers, respectively. And the two indexes rose by 13.4 percent and 13.6 percent compared to that of the same period in the previous year, showing a promising growth momentum.
