A promotional event marking China's 8th National Tourism Day was held in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on May 18.

The annual National Tourism Day, first established in 2011, commemorates the day ancient travel writer Xu Xiake (1587-1641) began work on his masterpiece, Travel Notes of Xu Xiake

Organized by Hohhot Tourism Bureau, Yuquan district government, Yuquan tourism department and local tourism enterprises, the event attracted many visitors.

During the event tourism departments, scenic spots, travel agencies and hotels across the city erected information booths to provide visitors with on-site consultations.

The event also featured cultural performances and activities aimed at providing visitors with the latest tourism information, policies and developments.

A solicitation campaign for the tourism slogan and logo of Yuquan district was held on the same day and will run until June 15th.

According to its tourism department, Yunquan district will integrate Zhaojun culture with its local tourism, planning to work with local enterprises to promote featured products and travel routes.
