Lushunkou listed in national plan of fishing port construction

Lushunkou district of Dalian, Liaoning province, is included in a national fishing ports construction plan issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on May 3.

According to the plan, the country will build 10 fishing ports clusters with a total of 93 fishing port economic zones in the Liaodong Peninsula, Bohai Gulf, Shandong Peninsula, Jiangsu province, Shanghai-Zhejiang region, the coastal area of Southeast China, Guangdong province, Beibu Gulf, Hainan province and the South China Sea.

The list includes five fishing port economic zones in Dalian. At present, they have a total of 168 fishing ports with 26,308 ships, annually producing 2.46 million tons of aquatic and marine products.   

During the planned period from this year up to 2025, the central government will provide support for the construction of four central fishing ports and nine top-level ones in Dalian, to form fishing port economic zones with their own characteristics, such as seafood processing, cold chain logistics, sightseeing and comprehensive trade services.
