A Russian delegation of Soviet Red Army’s offspring visited Dalian, North China’s Liaoning province, on May 7, to trace their childhood memories.

Their fathers were soldiers of the Soviet Red Army who were stationed in Lushunkou district during 1945 to 1955. Thus they were either born in Dalian or lived in Dalian for several years.

Kai Chenglian, chairman of Laishi Group and Lushunkou China-Russia Cultural Exchange Association, met with the delegation and expressed a warm welcome to them.

He said that Dalian is the second hometown to many Russians and he hoped more Russian people could come and live in Lushunkou district.

During the trip, the delegation visited a 90-year-old veteran Wang Hailong who used to work with the Soviet Red Army. They also went around the city looking for former sites where their homes were located.
