The city of Yantai in East China's Shandong province attaches great importance to development of the logistics industry. It aims to build an integrated logistics center covering sea, land and air transport to serve the Shandong Peninsula, Midwest China and even Northeast Asia.

Yantai port has unique geographical advantages in developing ferry logistics. The Yantai-Dalian Railway Ferry, which started operations in November 2006, is an important part of China's railway network as it provides a shortcut between the northeast and east of China.

The distance between the terminals, Yantai North Station and Lvshun West Station, is around 159.8 kilometers, which makes it the first ferry route in China and the 35th in the world with a distance of over 100 kilometers.

Fresh fruit transportation has first priority in the Yantai aviation logistics industry. In 2017, Yantai airport opened 126 "cherry flights" to transport 3,142 tons of cherries to over 200 cities across the nation.

The city's airport is committed to building an international aviation circle serving the nation and connecting Japan, South Korea and the larger world, relying on geographical advantages, environmental resources and advanced manufacturing.

E-commerce logistics is also a key factor to promote Yantai's modern logistics development. The city will construct fruit e-commerce platforms to transport seasonal fruits like apples, cherries and pears to cities cross China.

As an e-commerce demonstration city and a pilot city for cross-border commerce, Yantai will strengthen cooperation with business and financial departments, ports and customs to help cross-border e-commerce companies improve their express service.
