The smell of ink flows to Hechi

The smell of ink filled the ethnic library in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region thanks to a lecture by famous calligrapher Liu Dehong on April 28.

Liu Dehong, executive vice chairman of the Guangxi Calligraphers Association, shared his experience in seal cutting and calligraphy with over 200 ink amateurs and literary fans.

With a hands-on demonstration, Liu summed up his experience over the years with 20 tips, including delving deeply into the art and drawing lessons from others' works.

Liu was born in Bama Yao autonomous region in Hechi and has won a number of awards for his exquisite skills, such as the Lanting Award, the top prize for Chinese calligraphers.

He also interacted with his literary fans by providing helpful hints and remarking on their ink works.
