Shenzhen is a domestic leader in the smart equipment/device sector. This includes devices such as automatic laser welding equipment and PCB circuit board 3D testing equipment. The city has also seen major research and manufacturing breakthroughs for patient/medical monitoring. Examples of this include BGI winning the first two approvals in China for second generation genome analyzers, and Edan successfully bringing the first domestic self-developed blood-gas biochemical analyzer to market.
