Bio-industry

Shenzhen was included in China's first group of national bio-industry centers, and after more than 10 years of development, an excellent industry foundation and ever-better environment for industry development have been established for Shenzhen's bio-industry. 

Shenzhen-based enterprises have achieved striking achievements in bio-medicine, medical devices/equipment, biological environmental protection, biological services and other fields, and Shenzhen already has 254 bio-industry companies leading innovation. At present, Shenzhen's Bio-industry is rapidly developing at an annual growth rate of 20 percent. The city's main bio-industry industrial zones/parks include the Shenzhen High-Tech Industrial Park and the Pingshan National Bio-industry Base. Some of the better known Shenzhen-based bio-industry enterprises include BGI, Mindray, and Hepalink.
