Founded on Dec 28, 1994, Wuxi Sharp Electronic Components Co., Ltd is a Sino-Japanese joint venture established by Japanese company Sharp Corporation and Wuxi Electronic Instrument Co., Ltd.

Headquartered in Wuxi Xinwu district (Wuxi Hi-tech district), Jiangsu province, Sharp's Wuxi subsidiary covers an area of 85,000 square meters. The company began operations in 1996, and earned 24.5 billion yuan ($3.85 billion) in turnover in 2004.

Wuxi Sharp Electronic Components Co., Ltd produces liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors and other related devices, and has a LED division and electronic product division. With a registered capital of $31.5 million, the company employs over 10,000 workers.
