Panasonic Energy (Wuxi) Co, located in the Wuxi Xinwu district (Wuxi Hi-tech district), Jiangsu province, is invested by Osaka-headquartered Panasonic Corporation in Japan. The company was set up in Wuxi Xinwu district in July 2001 with a total investment of 18 billion yuan (about $145 million).

It is situated on 230,000 square meters of floor area with five factory buildings and employs more than 5,000 employees as at the end of 2014. Panasonic Energy mainly engages in manufacturing nickel-metal hydride and lithium ion batteries used in mobile phones, computers and digital cameras.
