The launch ceremony for 24-hour self-service bookstore was held in Yantai, East China's Shandong province on April 22 to welcome the upcoming World Reading Day.

More bookstores mean more convenience for local residents as they stop to read, learn and enjoy in their leisure time. The first bookstore covers an area of 600 square meters and has over 8,000 books.

The city plans to build over ten 24-hours self-service bookstores to promote reading among local residents.
